"False Alarm"

On the afternoon of April 5,1862 an anxious Col. Nathan Bedford Forrest, travels with a detachment of his 3rd Tennessee Calvary, (Forrest Own) along the South side of Lick Creek, on his way to Shiloh., to receive his orders from General A. S. Johnson, when they get caught in what they think are Union pickets firing at them. It turns out to be a covey of Quail, which are just as surprised at the horses coming up the old wagon trail.
